Niterra, one of the leading suppliers of ignition products and vehicle electronics, has expanded its spark plug range with seven double precious metal spark plugs and six ignition coils for 4-wheel vehicles, which will help to increase the company's overall aftermarket coverage in the NORDIC region.

The new products offer the company's usual reliability and quality for this important component and cover a wide range of vehicle manufacturers:

Type | Manufacturer
SILZKGR8G8S | BMW & Mini
SILNAR8D7G | Ford
SILFER8D7ES | Audi, Cupra, VW
ILKER7B8EGS | Audi, Cupra, Skoda, Seat, VW
ILZKAR8N6S | Mazda
ILKAR7Q7 | Renault, Dacia, Nissan

The seven double precious metal spark plugs are characterised by their excellent ignition capability and high wear resistance.

The new references, which all follow Niterra's OE business, will cover a vehicle population of just over 193.000 vehicles in 2024. This is expected to rise to almost 225.000 in the following year, which corresponds to an increase of more than 16 %. Of the seven articles, the ILKAR7Q7 reference model alone is expected to increase the vehicle population by almost 40.000 units this year, rising to over 47.000 by 2025. The SILNAR8D7G spark plug also covers a vehicle population of more than 74.000 vehicles in 2024, which is expected to rise to over 80.000 by 2025.

The spark plugs are part of the Laser Iridium / Laser Platinum range from NGK Ignition Parts, which are known for their excellent ignition properties and durability. The spark plugs have an iridium or platinum alloy on the centre electrode and a platinum chip on the ground electrode, both of which ensure high long-term performance.

In addition to the newly introduced spark plugs mentioned above, Niterra has extended its existing range of ignition coils with further types.

The following references cover a range of major vehicle models, totalling over 156.000 vehicles in the NORDIC region.

Type | Manufacturer
U5443 | Fiat, Lancia
U5353 | Mitsubishi
U5566 | Suzuki
U5475 | Toyota, Lexus
U5429 | Mercedes Benz
U5526 | Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jeep

Ignition coils are essential components of a vehicle's ignition system. They convert the low voltage of the battery into the high voltage required to generate a spark at the spark plugs and ignite the fuel-air mixture.

Niterra offers six different types of ignition coils, all of which are heat and moisture resistant. These include: Distributor Coils, Block Coils, Dual High Voltage Output Block Coils, Plug Shaft Ignition Coils with Dual Spark and Single Spark Technology and Ignition Coil Systems (also known as ‘Rails’).

With over 85 years of experience and almost 410 part numbers, Niterra offers ignition coils that cover 86% of vehicles in the NORDIC region. By continuously expanding its range, the company is consolidating its position as a global market leader in the aftermarket.

All new references are now listed in the TecDoc web catalogue.
